Naimul Islam Nayem

I began my academic journey in the United Kingdom, where I enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science. However, over time, I discovered my passion for business and marketing, which led me to move to Portugal and shift my academic focus.

I completed my Bachelor’s in Global Marketing at IPAM – Instituto Português de Administração de Marketing in Lisbon. Currently, I’m pursuing my MBA at Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, where I’m further deepening my understanding of international business, strategy, and entrepreneurship.

Having lived in Portugal for over five years, I’ve experienced firsthand the journey many international students face—adapting to a new culture, managing studies, finding part-time work, and planning for long-term goals like permanent residency and career growth in Europe. These experiences allow me to provide realistic, practical, and personalized guidance to students who want to follow a similar path.

Tahsir Ahmed Munna

My name is Tahsir Ahmed Munna, and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Computer Science at the University of Porto, one of Portugal’s leading research institutions. My research centers on developing advanced methodologies to process and understand European Portuguese clinical texts, with the goal of improving clinical NLP applications through the integration of pre-trained Large Language Models (LLMs) and domain-specific health ontologies.

This doctoral work builds on my academic foundation in Data Science, which I studied at the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Russia. During my Master’s, I gained in-depth expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing — all of which shaped my current research direction.

My academic journey spans multiple countries and languages, and I’m passionate about applying computational methods to solve real-world problems in healthcare, language technology, and AI. Through my research, I aim to contribute to the growing field of clinical AI in Portuguese-speaking regions and help bridge the gap between language models and domain-specific applications.

Bishwajit Roy

My name is Bishawjit Roy, and I’m currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Lisbon, focusing on sustainability and climate-related research within the cE3c (Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes) group. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies, a collaborative program between the University of Lisbon and NOVA University Lisbon, fully funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

Prior to my Ph.D., I received a Joint Master’s Degree in Forest Science from the University of Padova, Italy, through the Erasmus Mundus scholarship program, one of the European Union’s most prestigious academic scholarships. My academic journey began in Bangladesh, where I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST).

I’ve now lived in Portugal for several years and became a Portuguese citizen in 2022. I currently reside in Lisbon with my wife and son, enjoying a well-rounded life that balances academic research with personal passions like traveling, cooking, and surfing.

My international academic and research experience allows me to deeply understand the challenges and opportunities of studying and settling in Europe — and I’m always eager to help others navigate a similar path.

Kazi Shawan

My name is Kazi Shawan, and I come with a diverse and international academic background rooted in both creativity and strategic thinking. One of the most defining chapters of my journey was completing my Master’s in Game Design at Masaryk University in Brno, Czechia — a globally respected institution that gave me hands-on experience in game theory, interaction design, and immersive storytelling.

That academic foundation expanded my vision and led me to pursue a second Master’s degree in Global Marketing at IPAM Lisboa, Portugal, where I’m currently enrolled. Earlier, I earned my Bachelor’s in Multimedia from Daffodil International University (DIU) in Bangladesh, and also studied Animation at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in India.

My academic path reflects a lifelong passion for learning and pushing creative boundaries — from design to digital marketing, from game dynamics to global branding strategies. Outside the classroom, I fuel my creativity through travel and photography, which add color and balance to my journey.

I believe in the transformative power of knowledge — because for me, “Information is Power.”
